Yano Research Institute Releases Report on Japanese Generic Drug Market The top five manufacturers of generic drugs that are used by the respondents are Sawai Pharmaceutical (43.6%), Towa Pharmaceutical (30.1%), Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical (29.5%), Merck Hoei (28.3%), and Taiyo Yakuhin (22.5%). The report, available only in Japanese, sells for 735,000 yen ($6,620).
