GENERIC ZOCOR TO SAVE UPSTATE NEW YORKERS MILLIONS OF DOLLARS

ROCHESTER, NY -- (06/22/2006; 1525)(EIS) -- Upstate New Yorkers who take Zocor to lower their cholesterol could reduce their annual out-of-pocket spending by more than $9 million when the drug's patent expires June 23 and the first lower-cost generic version becomes available, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield experts predicted today.
